This temple has recently been remodeled, right? It's so unique and unusual looking...love it! One of my daughters and I visited Utah a couple of years ago, and we cruised over to Provo one day so that I could see the MTC, and wow, the temple is so impressive sitting there atop the hill.

yeah, they just remodeled the temple grounds this last summer, not many people get married in the Provo temple. Manti and Salt Lake usually steal the thunder. They took a group of photographers around to show them good places to get pictures. It's got quite the view sitting on the benches right in front of the temple. I sat there for a few minutes before I went in, waiting for my mom and just enjoyed the view. It over looks the BYU stadium and Utah lake, the sun was just getting ready to set, it was quite the beautiful scene and great for a moment to just sit and think.

Provo is the temple I was sealed to my folks in…It’s my favorite just for that reason!

Yay! I found myself wondering about you and whether you'd received your call and decided to check out your blog before going to work. My son served a Spanish speaking mission in Mexico, and even now he slips back into Espanol. He stayed at the MTC for eight weeks, and you probably will too. This is wonderful and will affect the rest of your life (and eternity) in a positive way.

You pretty much pegged that one on the nose, and to top it all off one of my really close girlfriends got married on Saturday and i was a bridesmaid, so I was all involved and stressed with that! I tried to talk to my dad about it, but we've kinda decided that we're just going to have to agree to disagree... I'll probably just end up opening it in front of the whole family, just to keep the peace though. And my dad did make a good point that it would be good for my little brother to see. He's never had an experience like this before. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how I fill about it all...

No easy answers to this one. It's kind of ironic that something as sacred and special as this is turning into such an ordeal. It just occurred to me that you're all tense and anxious, and that just adds fuel to the fire so to speak.

I think my opinion of the event makes no difference at all but alas I speak.
I see your dad’s point of view…he has this last chance to hold on to his little girls hand while she has a big moment.
For you though…I would give them the option of a video camera so they can see your reaction and you still get your private moment!

While I can understand why your parents would want to be a part of this moment, it's YOUR MISSION, and I think they should respect your desire to have a quiet, private moment as you discover where you'll be serving for 18 months. Just my opinion as a MOM (Mother of Missionary).
